As a rule of thumb, add your room's length and width in feet and read the total as inches for a balanced diameter, then keep the bottom of the fixture at least 7 feet above the floor (or 30-36 inches above a dining table). In an open living room with standard 8-foot ceilings, keep the bottom of the chandelier about 7 feet (84 inches) above the floor so people can walk beneath it comfortably. Add roughly 3 inches of height for every extra foot of ceiling above 8 feet. When the chandelier hangs over a coffee table, console or dining surface, lower it to about 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop.

Aim for roughly 20 lumens per square foot of living room. A 14 by 16 ft room (224 sq ft) therefore needs about 4,500 lumens in total. A single chandelier typically supplies 2,000 to 3,500 lumens, so pair it with table lamps or recessed lights to reach the target rather than over-sizing one fixture. Choose 2700K to 3000K warm white for a relaxed, luxury feel; 3500K and above starts to read as clinical. Put the chandelier on a dimmer so you can drop to 20-30% output in the evening.

Most Mirodemi chandeliers with integrated LED modules are dimmable, and models using replaceable E12 or E14 bulbs dim whenever dimmable bulbs are fitted. Check the specification tab on each product for confirmation. Integrated LED fixtures need a trailing-edge (ELV) LED-compatible dimmer rather than an older leading-edge type, and the dimmer's minimum load has to be met — around 10 to 20 watts on most models. Flicker or buzzing almost always traces back to a mismatched dimmer rather than the fixture.

Switch the power off at the breaker and let the bulbs cool for at least 15 minutes. For routine care, dust each arm and crystal with a dry microfiber cloth every 4 to 6 weeks. For a deep clean once or twice a year, mix one part isopropyl alcohol to three parts distilled water, mist the cloth rather than spraying the fixture, wipe each crystal and dry immediately to prevent water spots. Never use ammonia, vinegar or abrasive cleaners on gold, brass or plated finishes.
