Start with the room: measure its length, width and ceiling height. Then choose the number of tiers and the overall size so the chandelier fills the space without crowding it, and set the drop so the bottom sits at a comfortable height.
What is a tiered chandelier?
It is a chandelier with its lights arranged in two or more stacked levels. The tiers usually get smaller toward the top or the bottom, which gives the fixture a fuller, more vertical shape than a single ring of lights.
Where does a tiered chandelier work best?
In rooms with some height: foyers and two-story entryways, dining rooms with taller ceilings, living rooms and staircases. The stacked shape fills vertical space that a flat fixture leaves empty.
How many tiers do I need?
As a general guide, one or two tiers suit ceilings around 8 to 10 feet, and three or more tiers suit ceilings of 12 feet and higher, including two-story foyers and stairwells.
Are ring chandeliers tiered?
Only in their multi-ring versions. Several LED ring models here come with one, two or three rings. Pick two or three rings for a stacked look.
What size should I choose?
For the width, add the room's length and width in feet and use the total as the diameter in inches. For the height, a common rule is about 2.5 to 3 inches of chandelier for every foot of ceiling height. Our chandelier sizing guide has more examples.
How low should it hang?
Over a dining table, keep the bottom about 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop. In a foyer or hallway where people walk underneath, keep it at least 7 feet above the floor.
Are bulbs included, and are the chandeliers UL certified?
Yes. Models with bulb sockets ship with bulbs, LED models have built-in light sources, and every chandelier is UL certified.
How long does it take to get one?
Production takes 15-20 days and shipping another 5-7 days. Before we ship, we send you photos and a video of your chandelier assembled and lit, so you can approve it.
