How many should I order for a kitchen island?

Pendants over an island are usually spaced 24-30 in apart centre to centre, with at least 6 in between the end pendant and the edge of the counter. On that spacing a 6 ft island typically takes two of the Dia15.7 in shades or three of the Dia11.8 in; an 8 ft island takes three of the larger. Measure your countertop length before ordering and we will confirm the layout for you.

How bright is one pendant?

Each shade takes a single E27 6W LED bulb and the alabaster diffuses it, so one pendant on its own is soft accent light, not task light for chopping. That is deliberate - the material is chosen so the stone reads as lit stone. For a working island, plan a row of two or three of these and keep separate downlights or under-cabinet light for task work.

How high do they hang, and can I dim them?

The cord is 78.7 in (200 cm) and adjustable, and the ceiling base is only Dia3.9 in, which keeps a row of them visually quiet on the ceiling. Over a counter, pendants normally sit 30-36 in above the surface. The fixture is non-dimmable; colour temperature is set at order - 3000K warm, 4000K neutral or 6000K cool. It runs on AC110-240V and is UL certified.

Is the alabaster the same on each shade?

No, and in a row that is visible. Every shade is carved from natural Spanish alabaster with its own cloud-like pattern, so three pendants over one island will differ from each other. Most customers want that; if you would prefer them as close to matched as possible, say so when you order and we will cut the set from one block.

Can I mix sizes or order a custom configuration?
