How do I pick the right length?

Measure floor to ceiling in the stairwell first, then subtract the clearance you need at the bottom. The eight lengths are 59, 78.7, 98.4, 118.1, 137.8, 157.5, 177.2 and 196.9 in, carrying 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 balls respectively - a ball roughly every 3.9 in in every size. Over a dining table the two shortest lengths are the usual choice; for a stairwell, aim for the cascade to finish near the level of the upper landing so it reads as full from the ground floor.

Are the spheres glass?

No - they are PMMA acrylic on an aluminium and iron frame. That is a deliberate choice for a fixture designed to hang in a stairwell: the piece stays light for its length, and an acrylic sphere will not shatter into a stairway if it is ever knocked. It also means the fixture is far easier to hang over a void than a crystal chandelier of the same drop.

How much clearance do I need underneath?

Keep the lowest sphere at least 7 ft above any surface people walk on - the entry floor, a landing, or a stair tread passing beneath. Ceiling height minus 7 ft, minus anything standing below, gives you the maximum length you can order. The ceiling base is Dia4.7 in and covers a standard junction box.

Can it be dimmed?

No - this model is non-dimmable, and the LED is built into the spheres rather than fitted as bulbs. Worth knowing before you commit on a long drop, because there is no remote to reach it with once it is hung. Colour temperature is chosen at order and only two are offered here: 3000K warm or 4000K neutral. For a home staircase or a dining room, 3000K is the usual pick; 4000K suits a cafe or a commercial lobby.

Where does it work besides a staircase?
